Mine Layout

• Assist in conducting laboratory rock mechanic studies (uniaxial and triaxial compressive strength tests). Determine unconfined shear strength (cohesion) and Young's Modulus from tests. Conduct point load index and indirect tensile strength (Brazilian) tests.

• Assist in determining load bearing capacity and the effects of depth on pillar strengths to aid in the design of underground pillars in coal mines (Valley Camp of Utah - Belina 1 & 2, Utah Fuels - Skyline Mine, Castlegate Coal Co. and at the U-2 mine in South Korea), trona mine (Wyoming), and of an experimental oil shale retort facility/mine (Colorado).

• Assist in determining optimum mine layout and panel orientation to avoid areas prone to roof falls. Obtain structural data directly from exposed rock faces in the mines. Examine areas prone to bumps and floor heaves. Design pillars for a controlled collapse during retreat.

• Evaluate the factor of safety associated with the slope of a coal waste pile in an open pit coal mine in Durango, Colorado.

• Examine lithologies and rock mechanic results to develop a field criteria to determine slope stability of rock types found at a Barrick Goldstrike open pit gold mine in Nevada.

• Analyze subsurface subsidence at the Belina 1 coal mine, by using methods developed by the National Coal Board (Great Britian). Assess effects of subsidence on adjacent surface structures and utilities (power line and gas line).

• Assist in assessing a means of sinking a shaft below the Shannon Sandstone of the Teapot Dome area in Wyoming to drain the high viscous oil from the reservoir. Analyze depositional environment associated with the Shannon Sandstone.

• Assess regional and local geologic structural conditions near Paonia, Colorado in the placement of a coal mine entry way connecting two coal panels located beneath an intermittent stream and an adjacent reservoir.

	Lamprophyre Dike Placer Gold Associated with Stream Laid Iron	Gold Exploration and Assessment:
		• Explore for disseminated gold deposits in fractured limestone and rhyolitic dikes along the Mesquite Mountain Range in Nevada.
		• Explore and mapped disseminated gold deposits in playa in Southern California.
		• Conduct mining feasibility study of weathered placer type deposit associated with Tertiary volcanic dikes in the Bay of Inchon, South Korea.
		• Conduct geophysical survey to locate buried river channels containing gold placer deposits in Quijotoa, Arizona.
		Uranium Resource Evaluations:
		• Assess uranium concentrations of the Flagstaff, Arizona and Socorro, New Mexico 1 X 2 degree series quadrangle maps under the National Uranium Resource Evaluation study.
		• Research uranium deposits as they relate to acidic type igneous rock (i.e. rhyolitic, rhyodacitic) and to deep seated lamprophyre volcanics.
		Oil & Gas Reserves:
		• Assess potential of oil and gas reserves in the Meeker-Craig area of Colorado for a banking interest.
		Other Resource Evaluations:
		• Assess reserves and mining feasibility of volcanic ash deposits within a 2,000 square mile area of Nebraska and South Dakota for the Santee Sioux to be used as a light weight aggregate. Determined legal owner of mineral rights.
		• Assess validity of lead-zinc reserves at Tanjung Bali on Sumatra (Indonesia) for South Korean venture.
		• Examine sinter deposit in Cotopaxi, Colorado for use as an agricultural additive.

	Acid Mine Drainage Measured through a Flume Plume migrating from Tailings Pile under Creek	Environmental Assessment/Assignments at Mining Operations:
		• Assess impact of groundwater passing through the Eagle Mine tailings pile into a nearby wetlands and towards the city's drinking water well of Minturn, Colorado. Conduct surface soil investigation of the mining town (Gilman, CO) where the miners use to live. Conduct surface soil sampling around tailings pile to assess if any contaminants were being blown off the pile.
		• Conduct audit for the US EPA of subsurface environmental investigation down gradient of Anne Creek Mine in Lead, South Dakota.
		• Monitor the closure of solution mine brine wells located beneath three natural gas deposits in Barberton, Ohio.
		• Manage and conduct environmental assessment of tungsten mines northeast of Nederland, Colorado; to assess existing impact to the environment and potential liability for new owners.
